Story on Turkish F-102 shot down by HAF F-5
"It was just two days after Turkey had invaded Cyprus and Skabardonis was paired with Flying Officer Ioannis Dinopoulos. Dinopoulos had a faulty radio and was flying behind Skabardonis.
Both were near Lemnos when a pair of Turkish F-102s ended up at the tail of Skabardonis’s F-5. The Turkish pilots did not detect the presence of Dinopoulos. As Skabardonis was maneuvering to shake off the F-102s. His wingman saw a Turkish pilot launching a missile at Skabardonis. Dinopoulos fired two AIM-9s at the F-102s but the first missile missed and the second missile found its target.
The other Turkish warplane escape but ran out of fuel before landing. The pilot died while attempting to land on a road..."

"On February 3, 1968, two Convair F-102As on escort duty were orbiting over North Vietnam, when the flight leader Maj. A. L. Lomax heard his wingman, Lt. Wallace Wiggins, say: “something is wrong with my aircraft”. Lomax closed and saw an unexploded Atoll missile protruding from the fighter’s tail! As they turned back towards Thailand, a pair of NVAF MiG-21s attacked the formation; their missiles missed, but the damaged F-102 crashed as it maneuvered to avoid the second attack. This was the only air-to-air loss of a Delta Dagger during the Vietnam War."

Mindkét fél rakétákat lőtt ki. Legalább egy repülőgép lezuhant. Még ötven évvel később is végtelen viták és nem kevés keserűség tárgya a pontos kimenetel. Ez a videó összegyűjti a bizonyítékokat mindkét oldalról, és megpróbál következtetést levonni a történtekről.
