Most már biztos, az osztrákok 12 darab M-346 FA-t fognak venni a Leonardotól a 2020-ban kivont Saab 105-ök pótlására. A pontos összeg nem ismert, de a Krone szerint Bécs 1 milliárd eurót különített el a beszerzésre

Ez érdekes lehet. Lehetséges japán M-346 rendelést rebesgetnek, cserébe Olaszország P-1-es tengerészeti járőrgépeket venne.

Japán tavaly jelezte szándékát, hogy gyártással együtt megvennr a T-7-est az amerikaiaktól. Ha összehozzák ezt az olaszokkal, felesleges lehet a T-7, még úgy is, hogy nagyobb teljesítményű.

Austria and Italy Finalize G2G Agreement for M-346FA Procurement

The Government-to-Government agreement includes 12 M-346FA for the Austrian Air Force, plus 12 more on option.

According to the document released by the Italian Ministry of Defense, the package requested by Austria includes:
  • 12 M-346FAs, plus 12 more on option in two batches of six aircraft;
  • Full Mission Simulator (FMS), Unit Level Training Device (ULTD), Computer Based Training (CBT) and Simulation Based Training (SBT) for pilots;
  • Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) capability;
  • Eight Role Equipment kits for the FA configuration;
  • 12 Helmet Mounted Devices (HMD);
  • 12 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogators;
  • Link 16 and IRIS-T Integration;
  • Eight Nexter NC621 20mm gun pods and 16 LAU-32 7-round rocket launchers;
  • Eight Elbit SPEAR AECM pods.

Leonardo signs contract for 12 M-346 F Block 20 aircraft for Austria...

The contract includes aircraft, simulation systems for pilots and maintenance technician training, spare parts and equipment, and logistical support for six years following the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028.

The contract includes aircraft supplied in the light fighter configuration under the new M-346 F Block 20 standard, equipped with cockpits featuring a Large Area Display (LAD), active electronically scanned radar, a Link 16 data-link, electronic countermeasures, and new weapons systems. The supply also includes a complete suite of simulation systems, an initial stock of spare parts, ground equipment and logistics / maintenance support for six years following the delivery of the first aircraft.

The M-346’s international success grows stronger, with orders totalling almost 160 aircraft; the type has been chosen by 20 countries for advanced training or as a light multirole fighter.
