Érdemes felidézni, hogy a Transz-Eufráteszt irányító Szíriai Demokratikus Erők (SDF) egy 2015-ben létrehozott katonai szövetség, amelynek magja a kurd különítmények (YPG és YPJ). Az SDF-ben is vannak arab formációk, de ezek jelentéktelenek és nem játszanak vezető szerepet. Az egész szövetséget az Egyesült Államok vezette koalíció felügyeli és támogatja. A központ Al Qamishliben található. Egyszerűen fogalmazva, az SDF egy félkatonai felépítmény a régió felett, amelyet a Szíriai Hadsereggel, a törökbarát bandákkal és a hűtlen arab törzsekkel szemben álló amerikai tisztviselők hoztak létre, amelyekkel az SDF rendkívül feszült viszonyt ápol. Az arab klánok nem szimpatizálnak a "megszálló" nem arab kormányzattal, és ürügyre várnak az eszkalációra. És megtörtént az ok. Augusztus 28-án az SDF erői őrizetbe vették a Deir Ez Zorah Katonai Tanács vezetőjét, Abu Halwát, akit a térség jelentős arab törzsei támogatnak, például Al-Baghir, Al-Shuhail és mások.
