The U.S. Air Force has taken delivery of the first of three WC-135R atmospheric collection aircraft.
This is the first of three WC-135R deliveries to the 55th Wing as the Air Force is modifying KC-135R Stratotankers to replace the aging WC-135C/W fleet. The next WC-135R delivery is scheduled for sometime this winter, with the final jet arriving in the summer of 2023.
