Leonardo DRS announced today that it has been awarded a contract to build additional advanced Joint Assault Bridge systems for the U.S. Army and the Romanian military (through a Foreign Military Sales agreement). Under the contract, the award is worth more than $49 million.

The Danish Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency (FMI) has entered into a contract for the acquisition of two field bridges from KNDS UK for the Danish Army.

The two 46 m long field bridges are mounted on the Rheinmetall MAN HX vehicles that the Army already uses and thus also has well-developed maintenance systems around. According to the manufacturer, a full 46 m bridge can be laid out by eight soldiers in approximately 1½ hours using one vehicle with an integrated laying mechanism.

The new field bridges will be delivered from the beginning of 2028, and it is expected that the Engineer Regiment in the Army will be able to use the bridges operationally by the end of the same year.
