Az orosz tüzérek elkezdték használni a továbbfejlesztett Krasznopol-M2 lőszert.

A védelmi minisztérium videójában egy Krasznopol-M2-ként azonosított tüzérségi lövedéket örökítettek meg. Ez különbözik elődjétől:

  • A lövedék repülési programjának automatizált bevitele, ami csökkenti a hibák lehetőségét a kilövésre való felkészítés során.
  • Az irányítórekesz alkotórészeinek (kormánylapátok) egymástól független aktiválásának lehetősége a röppályán, ami kiterjeszti a komplexum műszaki jellemzőit, és lehetővé teszi a célpontok magasságban és mélységben történő támadását.

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Denmark of Precision Guidance Kits and related elements of logistics and program support for an estimated cost of $85 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Government of Denmark has requested to buy up to five thousand eight hundred thirty-two (5,832) M1156 Precision Guidance Kits (PGK). Also included are ancillary items; compatibility testing; firing tables; technical assistance; technical data; new equipment training; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $85 million.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.

The proposed sale will improve Denmark’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing precision capability equipment and will increase first strike accuracy in its brigades. Denmark will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The principal contractor will be Northrop Grumman, located in Minneapolis, MN. The purchaser typically requests offsets. Any offset agreement will be defined in negotiations between the purchaser and the contractor.

Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to Denmark.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Government of Finland has requested to buy five thousand five hundred (5,500) M1156A1 Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) multi-option fuzes that will be added to a previously-implemented case whose value was under the congressional notification threshold.

The original Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case, valued at $.97 million, included technical data/reports; U.S. Government technical assistance; incidental travel; transportation; PGK spare parts; equipment training; and related elements of logistics and program support. This notification includes the original aforementioned items and adds five thousand five hundred (5,500) M1156A1 PGK multi-option fuzes. The following non-MDE items will also be included: ancillary items; compatibility testing; firing tables; integration kits; antennas; key loaders; precision-guided munition simulator; technical assistance; technical data/reports; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total program cost is $70 million.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that is an important force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.

The proposed sale will improve Finland’s capability to meet current and future threats and enhance its interoperability with U.S. and other allied forces. This proposed sale will enhance Finland’s artillery and mid-range fire capability. Finland will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces.

155-ösből kilőhet siklóbombát mutatott be az amerikai General Atomics.
Hasonló koncepció mint a GLSDB, csak lövegekhez:

"A lövedék kilövés után 12-13,7 km-es magasságban éri el csúcsát, ahol kibontja szárnyait. Innentől kezdve a lövedék (útvonalat) tervez, és a célpont felé manőverez. Egy hagyományos 155 mm-es ágyúból a hatótávolsága várhatóan eléri a 120-150 km-t."

A rendszer nem használ könnyen zavarható GPS-t: elektrooptikai rávezetést alkalmaz a fotók alapján.
