It was published in today's Army bulletin, October 18, the ordinances 1,421 and 1,422 of the Army General Staff (EME) approving the guidelines for obtaining the special armored transport vehicle 6X6 Ambulance (EB20-D-08.078) and the special armored vehicle Command Post (EB20-D-08.077), members of the Army Strategic Program Armored Forces (Prg EE F Bld).
According to documents produced by the Land Force, the demands for special versions of the Guarani are:
Ambulance: 80 units;
Command post: 74 units;
Anti-aircraft: 62 units, including 13 radar and 49 missile launchers;
Communications: 28 units;
Artillery firing center: 25 units; and
120mm mortar carrier: 104 units.
The Army has already received around 700 units of the Guarani personnel transport vehicle (VBTP), some equipped with REMAX and UT30BR remotely controlled weapons systems (SARC) , and the Engineering and 81mm mortar transport versions , but the latter are adaptations produced by the São Paulo (AGSP) and Rio (AGR) War Arsenals, respectively.
