A magyar haderő lehetséges fejlesztési irányai

The government has conveyed that it welcomes the approval by the European Commission of the Application submitted by Romania for financing through the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) Program.
According to the official statement, during the next week the projects included in the application submitted by our country will be publicly announced.
The government recalls that Romania benefits from 16.68 billion euros, the second largest allocation in the SAFE Program.
"After the approval of the European Commission, the Council is going to adopt the decisions to implement, and afterwards, the Commission will finalize the loan agreements, with the first payments to be made in March 2026. Romania's application was approved today together with the plans submitted by Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal. We thank our colleagues from the SAFE group and those from the Prime Minister's Office for their effort, who ensured the secretariat work. By 2030 Romania must utilize this opportunity by completing the purchases", the Government communication is also mentioned.
On the same topic, prime minister Ilie Bolojan mentioned, on Thursday night, in a post on his Facebook page, that among the projects that will have financing provided through SAFE are the highways of Moldova: Paşcani - Suceava - Siret and Paşcani- Iasi - Ungheni.
"Also, on the basis of these funding, we will strengthen our defense industry through investments, transfer of military technology and creation of new jobs. The projects will contribute to the development of military and civilian infrastructure, equipping the Romanian army with modern defense equipment and increasing the security of our country. "This is an important step in Europe's efforts to strengthen security," said Prime Minister Bolojan.
The SAFE Regulation was adopted on 27 May 2025, as part of the "Preparedness 2030" Strategy, an ambitious defence package that offers EU Member States financial levers to stimulate a growth of investment in defence capabilities.
The instrument SAFE (Security Action for Europe) is a temporary financial mechanism of the European Union, with a budget of 150 billion euros, in the form of loans granted under favorable conditions.
