A fegyvert vásárlóknál az első 4 hónapban az előző évhez képest 48%-kal nőtt a biztonsági háttérellenőrzések száma, elérve így a 6,5 milliót.
24-ről 40 %-ra nőtt az első fegyvert vásárlók aránya. Ez több mint 2.2 millió vásárlót jelent. Átlag 595$-t hagytak a kasszáknál és 40 %-uk nő. Leginkább a félautomatákat és a sörétest viszik.
