Excuse my English but I don't speak Hungarian.
I saw here some questions about HIMARS systems so I thought I would make some clarifications. The 16 systems received at the beginning of the year are the first tranche of the 54 contracted (the others are being manufactured).
This system was chosen for the excellent prospects regarding the missiles and vectors that will be used on it in the future and I am referring here to the tests that are made now with AMRAAM, NSM or new vectors such as PrSM. It is worth mentioning that the development of NSM is intended in a missile capable of operating against ground targets. In the future, the system will be very versatile and will be limited only by the possibilities of acquiring the target. In addition, 6 AN / TPQ-53 artillery radars were purchased as well. I don't know if all of them will be used by the 3 HIMARS battalions or will be used by the other 3 LAROM battalions.
The existing LAROMs will receive new ammo, including new Romanian 122 mm thermobaric round and will be kept in service as well as new LAR Israeli ammo (probably submunitii antiblindate).
Regarding the combat value, I will give you a small example, as I saw here hypothetical discussions about a possible major conflict Romania vs Hungary. The 3 HIMARS battalions are brought around Arad and the first 2 launch a salvo to the air bases in Kecskemet and Szolnok. The third attacks on the radar sites in Bekescsaba and Bankut.
After firing all the missiles, they change the site a few kilometers and all 3 battalions launch a salvo to the Parliament in Budapest.
But of course, no one sane in Romania thinks that will ever attack Hungary. This is just an exercise in imagination, a "what if" scenario for you to see what these weapons can do.
HIMARS Patriot capabilities were acquired to deter Russia. Obviously, no one believes that Romania can defeat Russia, but any aggression against Romania will have to be seriously analyzed because it will be very expensive for a possible aggressor, will cost them a hand and a leg.
As for the rumors about the systems that will be purchased in this decade by the Romanian Army, there are quite a few: Abrams, Bell Viper & Venom and drones (I heard that the Turks have a very interesting proposal for Romania, including local production and licensing). Again, excuse my English.

Anyway, this will be our answer soon (more than rumours, but the contract is not officially proclaimed yet): Skyranger 30 and a newly developed HEL variant. These systems are the prospective CIWS of the new Hungarian SHORAD. Perfect against the artillery threat.
Of course, against the Russian threat, since we are afraid of Putin very much!

The Oerlikon Skyranger Boxer is designed first and foremost for short- and very short-range mobile, ground-based air defence. It can shoot down incoming rockets as well as mortar rounds – but also unmanned aerial systems, including the low, slow and small kind, e.g. quadrocopter drones; it is also highly effective against low-flying aircraft.
Ez persze még a 35-ös, de a 30-asnak is meg kell legyen ez a képessége, van hozzá egy S-band AESA Multi-Mission Radar (AMMR) rajta.
