Trump Class Battleship Construction Won't Begin Until 2030s

With Trump class ship construction many years off, the survival of a program to build such large and expensive warships is even more questionable.

The U.S. Navy has confirmed to TWZ that construction of the first two Trump class “battleships” is not expected to start until the early 2030s.

The Golden Fleet’s Battleship Will Never Sail...

The first of this new class will be BBG-1, Defiant.
The second ship is unnamed, but will likely be named soon, given the program’s high visibility.

The first ship, USS Defiant (BBG-1), is likely to commission in the early- to mid-2030s, assuming it is built at all.
