A Hartpunkt szerint a Bundeswehr 3,4 milliárd eurós költségvetési kérelmet nyújtott be a Bundestag Költségvetési Bizottságához legfeljebb 229 darab RCH-155 155 mm-es önjáró tarack beszerzésére. A kérelmet várhatóan az év utolsó Költségvetési Bizottságának ülésén, 2025. december 17-én bírálják el. A szállításokra várhatóan négy év alatt, 2028 és 2032 között kerül sor.

KNDS Deutschland (KNDS) and the Italian defense company Leonardo will together develop a mobile artillery system.

This newly-developed artillery system will be based on the KNDS Artillery Gun Module and an enhanced version of Leonardo's protected wheeled vehicle platform.

The companies will offer their joint solution for the upcoming procurement program of the Italian Army.

On 19 December 2025, ARTEC GmbH received an order for the first 84 RCH155 wheeled howitzers.

The order is based on a framework agreement between ARTEC GmbH and the Federal Office of Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) for a total of 500 RCH155 systems, which can also be called up by other nations.

The order value for ARTEC GmbH for the first 84 wheeled howitzers and associated training equipment, service and logistical support is around €1.2 billion.

Rheinmetall will supply the electrical systems, software and 155 mm weapon systems to Artec GmbH.
Deliveries will begin in 2027 and are scheduled for completion in 2029.

Artec GmbH is a joint venture between KNDS Germany and Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH. It is responsible for the Boxer vehicle family.
