The Indian Navy has commissioned INS Mahe, the first Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, at the Mumbai Naval Dockyard.

Built by Cochin Shipyard with over 80% indigenous components, INS Mahe is designed for anti-submarine operations, coastal defence, mine-laying, and 24×7 underwater surveillance. Equipped with advanced DRDO sonar systems, torpedo launchers, ASW rockets, and high agility water-jet propulsion, the vessel will serve as a “Silent Hunter” on the Western Seaboard, strengthening India’s coastal security and maritime dominance.
