AFTER SIGNING THE AGREEMENT WITH CROATIA, SLOVAK SOLDIERS ARE CLOSER TO NEW UNIFORMS
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic and the Croatian agency Agencija Alan signed a contract for the supply of fabrics for the production of new military uniforms for the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. “This is a turning point for us and I believe that by the end of 2025 we will present the people of Slovakia with a completely new soldier's outfit. Cooperation with Croatia confirms the importance of strategic partnerships, which saves considerable financial resources in the modernization of the armed forces,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic Robert Kaliňák, who, together with his Croatian counterpart Ivan Anušič, was present at the signing of the contract in Brussels during the NATO Council of Ministers.
The material for all uniforms, which will be supplied by the Croatian agency for the production of special fabrics, will be owned by the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic and, based on the results of the public procurement competition, the department will continuously supply this material to companies and firms in Slovakia that will sew individual parts of the military uniform for the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
On the sidelines of the NATO meetings, a contract was signed between the state-owned company ALAN Agency and the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic for the long-term supply of specialized military fabrics from Croatian manufacturers Čateks and Galeb for the needs of the Slovak Armed Forces.
The intergovernmental agreement worth more than 30 million euros is a confirmation of the continued support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia for the promotion and development of domestic industry and the placement of high-quality products from croatian defense companies to our partners within NATO and the EU.
