Poland signs USD 2.5 billion contract for Northrop Grumman IBCS system
Poland has signed USD 2.5 billion deal with the United States for an Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) developed by Northrop Gumman.

Lengyelország 2,5 milliárd dolláros szerződést írt alá az Egyesült Államokkal a Northrop Grumman Gumman által fejlesztett Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) rendszerre. A stratégiai akvizíció a NATO és az EU tagállama védelmi felkészültségének növelésére törekszik a szomszédos ukrajnai konfliktus okozta folyamatos biztonsági aggályok közepette.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz lengyel védelmi miniszter hangsúlyozta az új rendszer fontosságát, és a légi- és rakétavédelmi rendszerek "műveleti agyának" nevezte. Ezzel a vásárlással Lengyelország lesz a második ország az Egyesült Államok után, amely a világszerte elérhető legfejlettebb integrált parancsnoki rendszert telepíti.
A harci vezetési rendszer Lengyelországba szállítását 2031-re tervezik. Ez a beruházás nemcsak Lengyelország védelmi képességeit erősíti, hanem megerősíti azon eltökéltségét is, hogy kulcsszerepet vállaljon a NATO kollektív biztonságában.
The agreements planned to be concluded in 2024 include:
- AH-64 Apache attack helicopters,
- aerostat-based aerial radar systems (recently FMS approval was granted within that regard),
- further main battle tanks,
- further Homar-A, and Homar-K MLRS assets,
- different helicopters, including support and multi-role platforms,
- unmanned reconnaissance and strike systems,
- F-16 MLU,
- main battle tank munitions,
- weapons inventory for the air force, or elements of the individual kit.

The Government of Poland has requested to buy up to eight hundred twenty-one (821) AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles with Extended Range (JASSM-ER) All-Up-Rounds. Also included are AGM-158 JASSM classified test equipment; weapon system support; integration and test support and equipment; classified software delivery and support; unclassified publications and technical documentation; transportation; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $1.77 billion.
This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.
The proposed sale will improve Poland’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing advanced, long-range strike systems for employment from Polish Air Force air platforms. This sale will further advance the already high level of Polish Air Force interoperability with U.S. joint forces and other regional and NATO forces. Poland already has JASSM-ERs in its inventory and will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces.

Also included are missile containers; training aids; active optical target detectors; spares; support equipment; missile support; U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $219.1 million.
