India and France have signed a landmark Inter-Governmental Agreement for the procurement of 26 Rafale-Marine fighter jets (22 single-seaters and 4 twin-seaters) for the I ndian Navy, along with weapons, simulators, and training.
The deal, signed by Raksha Mantri Shri and French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu, includes major Transfer of Technology, local production of fuselage, and MRO facilities, boosting "Aatmanirbhar Bharat". Deliveries will be completed by 2030, significantly strengthening India's naval air power and joint operations with the IAF.
According to the local press, the amount of this contract is 7.41 billion dollars [approximately 6.5 billion euros].![]()
