Az eset érdekessége, hogy ugyanezen a napon zuhant le a Thunderbirds F-16-osa is, illetve pontosan egy héttel később, június 9-én ütközött össze a levegőben a Patrouille Suisse két F-5-öse és még ezen a napon zuhant le a Ruszkije Vityazi egyik Szu-27-ese is a pilótájával együtt.
