Idézet az Aviation Week cikkből:
"Few details about the AIM-260 are disclosed. Genatempo called the weapon “JATM,” which is understood to stand for the Joint Air Tactical Missile (JATM). He noted the weapon does not use ramjet propulsion, and is compatible with the form-factor of the AIM-120. This journalist asked how the AIM-260 achieves significantly greater range than the AIM-120D, yet is closely similar in size. Asked if the weapon uses a more efficient motor or propellant or if it perhaps employs a smaller weapon to accommodate additional fuel volume, Genatempo replied that each of those options are in the trade space for achieving greater range."

$ 500 millió 180 db C7 rakétáért nagyon soknak tűnik…o_O
A Japánok 160 db-ért $ 317 milliót fizettek (ld. fent)

WASHINGTON, October 17, 2019 -

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Korea of 120 AIM-120C-7/C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) with support for an estimated cost of $253 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Republic of Korea (ROK) has requested to buy one hundred twenty (120) AIM-120C-7/C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). Also included are containers; weapon support and support equipment; spare and repair parts; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistical and program support. The total estimated program cost is $253 million.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by meeting the legitimate security and defense needs of one of the closest allies in the INDOPACOM Theater. The Republic of Korea is one of the major political and economic powers in East Asia and the Western Pacific and a key partner of the United States in ensuring peace and stability in that region. It is vital to U.S. national interests to assist the Republic of Korea in developing and maintaining a strong and ready self-defense capability.

This proposed sale will improve the ROK capability to meet current and future threats by increasing its stocks of medium range missiles for its F-15K, KF-16, and F-35 fleets for its national defense. The potential sale will further strengthen the interoperability between the United States and the ROK. The ROK will have no difficulty absorbing these additional missiles into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The principal contractor will be Raytheon of Waltham, MA. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale. Any offset agreement will be defined in negotiations between the Purchaser and the prime contractor.

Implementation of the proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to the ROK.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded.

(OK, abban voltak kiegészítő tételek, szolgáltatások is!)

Az upgrade elméletemet erősíti, a következő link is:
Raytheon planned to add AMRAAM upgrades during Lot 31 but later bumped them to the end of Lot 33.

A szerződéseket néztem végig.

Helyzet.

A Navy a gyakorló rakétákat vette 383 ezer USD-ért.

Anticipated delivery for AMRAAM Production Lots 34-36 will be from FY 2022 to FY 2025. Anticipated date of Request for Proposal for AMRAAM Production Lots 34-36 is on or about 21 August 2018. Closing date for response to this synopsis for the AMRAAM Production Lots 34-36 is fifteen (15) days after the date of this synopsis publication.

Lot 31 missile deliveries begin in May 2019 and are projected to be complete by April 2020.

The following missiles were purchased on the Lot 32 contract: 185 Air Force, 120 Navy and 54 FMS AIM-120D missiles. 154 Telemetry Kits and 225 FMS AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM missiles. Lot 32 missile deliveries begin in July 2020 and are projected to be complete by January 2021.

The contract price was updated from $634.2M to $1186.8M due to the exercise of Lot 32 in March 2018, the Lot 32 additional spares (Field and Depot), additional Navy missiles, and Form. Fit, Function Refresh program transition to Production activities.
