The order consists of 766 AIM-9X Block II missiles and 160 AIM-9X Block II+ missiles.

"This modification provides for the procurement of AIM-9X Lot 18 production requirements to include 766 AIM-9X Block II all up round tactical missiles for the Navy (138); Air Force (197); and the governments of Israel (11); Norway (20); Qatar (40); South Korea (60); and the United Arab Emirates (300), as well as 160 AIM-9X Block II+ all up round missiles for the Navy (12); Air Force (75); and the governments of Australia (49); Israel (7); and the Netherlands (17). WASHINGTON, October 1, 2020 -

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Republic of Korea of AIM-9X Block II Tactical Sidewinder Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $158.1 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Republic of Korea has requested to buy one hundred fifteen (115) AIM-9X Block II Tactical Sidewinder missiles; fifty (50) AIM-9X Block II Captive Air Training Missiles (CATM); twenty (20) AIM-9X Block II Tactical Missile Guidance Units; and twenty (20) AIM 9X Block II CATM Guidance Units. Also included are containers, weapon system support, software, surface transportation, missile technical assistance, and other technical assistance; and other related elements of program support. The estimated total cost is $158.1 million.

The principal contractor will be Raytheon Corporation, Tucson, AZ. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.


Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to the Republic of Korea.

Lám, lám, pontosan megmutatja, amit eddig sokszor magyaráztam sok helyen. A LoAL lényege nem az, hogy hátrafelé indít a gép. Hanem közepes és nagy magasságban egy kisebb HMZ-s, de lényegében BVR rakétát farag az AIM-9X-ből.

Lám, lám, pontosan megmutatja, amit eddig sokszor magyaráztam sok helyen. A LoAL lényege nem az, hogy hátrafelé indít a gép. Hanem közepes és nagy magasságban egy kisebb HMZ-s, de lényegében BVR rakétát farag az AIM-9X-ből.

Hogy az IRIST-nek van-e LoAL képessége, azt nem tudom. De az is képalkotós érzékelős és egy változatában már van anti-DIRCM funkció is, pontosabban, ha érzékeli azt, akkor az alapján vezeti célra magát.

Na, ha ilyen lesz MANPAD-ban is, akkor a harci heliknek kb. reszeltek. Az én szememben már most sem érik meg a pénzüket.
