Chief of Staff to fighters in Gaza:
"You have returned to fight in the Gaza Strip, where IDF forces are operating for the first time - I expect you to defeat the Rafah Brigade and lead to victory wherever you fight."
The Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, today conducted a situation assessment and field tour in the Morag axis area in the Gaza Strip and in the combat areas of the Golani Brigade and Brigade 188 with the Commander of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, the Commander of Division 36, Maj. Gen. Moran Omer, and other commanders.
The Chief of Staff spoke with the commanders and fighters of the 36th Division operating in the field, approving the operational plans for the continuation of the fighting.
From the Chief of Staff:
"You, the forces of the 36th Division, returned to fight in the Gaza Strip in a place where IDF forces are operating for the first time, the 'Morj' axis, in an operation that surprised the enemy and resulted in the elimination of dozens of terrorists and the detection of many weapons. You are exerting significant pressure. I expect you to defeat the Rafah Brigade and to lead to victory wherever you fight."
"At the beginning of Passover, the holiday of freedom, the goal of our action here is clear and ethical - returning all of our captives home, a victory and a blow to Hamas."
The Chief of Staff expressed his appreciation to the commanders and fighters of the 36th Division and the Southern Command, who have been fighting for a long time, and have brought significant achievements and victories in battles in the Gaza Strip and on the northern border.
