ISIS defenses are finally collapsing in NW Palmyra, very important breakthrough this morning toward Arak, this village which holds the most profitable oil & gas fields in Syria may be taken very soon.
Interesting to see that the allied forces are also moving on rough terrain hill to hill and approaching Arak from NE instead of the highway alone, flank protection but also aiming on future advances to Al Sukhnah, Der ez Zor and Raqqa, double approach to Arak will be deadly and it is happening.
1) SAA took control of Jabal Al-Zalfah NW of Tadmor as well as Al-Mazare' Al-Sharqiyah & the Silos east of the city towards Arak Oil Field.

2) Fight is still on at Mustadira Gas field, 5 kms out of Arak, mostly taken by the allied forces already.
3) Farms and silo on the highway under allied forces, forces now at the crossroad highway-Mustadira Gas field.

4) SAAF and RuAF bombed heavily Al Sukhanah during the night to stop reinforcement to move to Arak.

The map below shows the area on fire today, it is large and actions all over, from the vital Mabal Marbat al Hasan North of Palmyra (ISIS still there which is a pain in the neck for the allied forces) to Arak and T3 pumping Station. This battle is beyond Arak or any small hill or gas field, this battle is about open the roads to Der ez Zor, Raqqa and the create an unsustainable presence of ISIS near Salamiyah in Homs, losing all this ground will force ISIS to regroup in Al Sukhnah and back to Raqqa.
This is big battle and could wipe ISIS out of the central Syrian desert and away from Homs. A must to liberate Der ez Zor but also a must to take the war to Raqqa.
