This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of an important regional partner. The UAE has been, and continues to be, a vital U.S. partner for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.


The proposed sale will improve the UAE’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing timely Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), target acquisition, locate submarines and counter-land and counter-surface sea capabilities for its security and defense. The capability is a deterrent to regional threats and strengthens its self-defense. The UAE has demonstrated a commitment to modernizing its military and will have no difficulty absorbing these articles into its armed forces.


The proposed sale of this equipment and support will alter the basic military balance in the Arabian Gulf region by expanding the release of a weapons ready Remotely Piloted Aircraft to the region.

Az US NAVY elkezdte az MQ-9A Reaper tengeralattjáró-vadász célú felhasználásának tesztelését, ami a várakozások szerint egy dedikált ASW célú MQ-9B SeaGuardian drón hadrendbe állításába futhat ki. A mostani tesztnél a koncepció tökéletesítése a cél, ehhez 10db ledobható szonárbóját visz magával a drón (és fegyverzetet nem). Az MQ-9B SeaGuardian négy szárny alatti pilonnal fog bírni, és ezekre olyan konténert lehet rögzíteni majd, amelybe egyenként 10db 'A' méretű vagy 20db 'G' méretű szonárbója mehet. A koncepció szerint 2 ilyen konténert visz magával (vagy akár négyet, ha csak a célpont felderítése lesz a cél), illetve két könnyű torpedót a felderített célpontok leküzdésére. A SeaGuardian projekt célja a P-8 Poseidon gépek tehermentesítése, amelyek így afféle "repülő irányítóközpontként" vezérelhetnék a tengeralattjáró-elhárító műveleteket.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Government of Spain has requested to buy follow on Contractor Logistics Support to include contractor provided MQ-9A Blk 5 aircraft components, spares, and accessories; repair and return; software and software support services; simulator software; personnel training and training equipment; publications and technical documentation; U.S. Government and contractor provided engineering, technical and logistical support services; and other related elements of logistical and program support. The total estimated program cost is $110 million.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO ally which is an important force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.

This proposed sale will improve Spain’s capability to meet current and future threats by ensuring the operational readiness of the Royal Spanish Air Force. Spain’s MQ-9A aircraft fleet provides Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance support that directly supports U.S. and coalition operations around the world. Spain will have no difficulty absorbing these support services into its armed forces.

MQ-9 cleared for Automatic Takeoff and Landing; ready for ACE operations

The MQ-9 in service with the U.S. Air Force has carried out an Automatic Takeoff and Landing Capability (ATLC) test and the drone is now cleared for Agile Combat Employment operations. A specialized launch and recovery crew is no longer required when the MQ-9 land and the unmanned air vehicle can now be diverted to a foreign field where it has never been before.

Valószínűleg alkkor már nem fog működni az SH hajtóműve, azaz nem függőlegesen, hanem "vontatásból" kell majd felhúzni.

A bezárt szárnyú Sparrowhawk nem fog "hánykolódni" amíg felhúzza a rögzítési pontig?
Valószínűleg alkkor már nem fog működni az SH hajtóműve, azaz nem függőlegesen, hanem "vontatásból" kell majd felhúzni.
A való életben lehet hogy kicsit bonyolultabb lesz a művelet, különòsen turbulens időben.
A Sparrowhawk nagy pillangó vezérsíkjai azért gondolom segítenek majd stabilizálni a rendszert a pilonra visszaemeléskor is.
Mindenesetre az egész elgondolás mind harcászatilag mind technikailag roppant ötletes.

USMC flies first Reaper UAV...

The US Marine Corps (USMC) has flown its first General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) MQ-9A Reaper medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), taking over the capability from its previous contractor-owned contractor operated (COCO) model.
