A Blue Angels-gépnek állítólag ugyanaz a Split-S manőver nem sikerült, mint évekkel ezelőtt egy Thunderbird F-16 pilótájának, csak akkor Chris Stricklin még "időben" a gépe becsapódása előtt tizedmásodpercekkel katapultált, és élve megúszta.
