Global Combat Air Programme industry partners reach landmark agreement to deliver next generation combat aircraft

BAE Systems (UK), Leonardo (Italy), and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement Co Ltd (JAIEC), have reached an agreement to form a new company under a business joint venture for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), subject to regulatory approvals.

Ez a cucc ha valamikor elkészül, jobb paraméterekkel fog bírni, mint egy F-35, vagy csak 30 év késéssel követik a Villámot? Ugye 2035 a terv rendszerbe állítás.

Wiki oldala szerint 6. generációs lesz, bár nem tudom ez mit jelent. Korábban ugye az volt, hogy a 6 gen az vélhetően már hiperszónikus lesz ramjet hajtóművel.

Nem igazán lehet még róla tudni semmit. Még csak most írták alá hogy ki fognak fejleszteni valamit. Ez már nem a Tempest lesz.
 
Leonardo has revealed a first order estimate for the three-nation Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) being advanced by joint partners Italy, Japan and the UK.

“A total of 350 platform orders for the entire joint venture are expected by 2035,” Leonardo disclosed within its broad-reaching industrial plan update on 11 March.

A három GCAP-ország közötti együttműködés sem felhőtlen....

Erre utal Guido Crosetto olasz védelmi miniszternek a Reutersnek tett április 15-i nyilatkozata, amelyben sajnálatát fejezte ki amiatt, hogy az Egyesült Királyság "nem osztja meg teljesen a technológiákat" Olaszországgal és Japánnal, anélkül hogy további részleteket közölt volna. Tekintettel arra, hogy a BAE Systems és a Rolls-Royce a GCAP-ban részt vevő fő brit gyártók, feltételezhető hogy Crosetto úr bírálata rájuk irányult.

The U.K. Royal Air Force officer in charge of defining requirements for the Tempest future fighter says the program’s top priority is a large payload — roughly twice that of the F-35A stealth fighter.

The same officer says the service is eyeing “really extreme range” for the new aircraft, with potentially enough internal fuel to fly across the Atlantic without refueling.

Mivel a manőverező képesség már nem igazán szempont, hiszen csak BVR harc van, így egyre inkább bombázókká híznak ezek a 6G-s vadászgépek...
