Saab Secures U.S. AT4 and Carl-Gustaf Ammunition Order

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has expanded a current framework agreement with Saab for AT4 systems and Carl-Gustaf® ammunition. A new order has also been signed valued at USD 104.9 million with deliveries during 2024-2026.

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has expanded a current framework agreement with Saab for AT4 systems and Carl-Gustaf® ammunition. A new order has also been signed valued at USD 104.9 million with deliveries during 2024-2026.

The Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) framework agreement was originally signed in 2019. The extension will allow the U.S. customer to place orders of Saab’s world-leading close combat solutions for up to an additional USD 422 million.

The new order within the framework agreement includes AT4CS RS systems and the latest high explosive round for Carl-Gustaf Weapon System, HE 448, designated as HE 441E in the U.S. This latest order will support the U.S. Army, U.S. Special Operations Command and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Alapvetően ez egy technikai elemzés, nem propi oldal.
A közölt hírek nagy része is nemzetközi sajtóból van. Nem tökéletes, de ez így is az egyik legjobb haditechnikai oldal ukrán oldalról.

WASHINGTON, October 3, 2023 -

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Oman of TOW 2B Radio Frequency Missiles (BGM-71F-7-RF) and Support and related equipment for an estimated cost of $70 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Government of Oman has requested to buy three hundred one (301) Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wireless-Guided (TOW) 2B, Radio Frequency (RF) Missiles (BGM-71F-7-RF) (includes 7 “Fly-to-Buy” Missiles). Also included are U.S. Government and contractor technical, program, logistics, and engineering support services, and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $70 million.

This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a friendly country that continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.

The proposed sale will improve the Royal Army of Oman’s capability to meet current and future threats by enhancing the strength of its homeland defense. Oman will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment and services into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The principal contractor will be Raytheon Missiles & Defense, Tucson, Arizona. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.

Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or U.S. contractor representatives to Oman.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

The description and dollar value are for the highest estimated quantity and dollar value based on initial requirements. Actual dollar value will be lower depending on final requirements, budget authority, and signed sales agreement(s), if and when concluded.

Saab approved for 100% ownership of Carl-Gustaf manufacturing facility in India...

This is a milestone in Saab’s progress towards the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in India which will produce the latest generation of the Carl-Gustaf shoulder-launched weapon. Saab will be partnering with Indian sub-suppliers and the systems manufactured at the facility will fully meet the requirements of “Make in India”.
