About 17:00 CET Polish news media issued a communique that a MiG-29 of Minsk Mazowiecki AB (25 miles east of Warsaw) had disappeared from radar displays and all comms with the pilot had been lost. The aircraft was reportedly manoeuvring for the final approach. Further fate of the MiG and its pilot remained unknown until minutes ago when the next reports confirmed the plane had crashed and the pilot ejected and was found alive and in good condition. Possible causes of the mishap will be investigated into by a team of experts.
