Nem számoltad el, csak nem vetted figyelembe a lövegpajzs tényleges vastagságát.
A szemből 230mm ellentmond mind a szovjet dokumentumnak, mind a valós méréseknek. 230mm soha a büdös életben nem lett volna képes megállítani sem a 115-ös, sem a 122-es űrméret alatti lövedékeket.
Mi itt a probléma? Egyszerű. Ismét idézem lengyel barátunkat:
"Gunshield is not even measured at all, the values are taken straight from documentation of the tank."
"In multiple sources we can find an information that the gunshield thickness is 127 mm (Hunnicutt) or 114 mm (M60A1 Manual, Auyer & Buda Report). "...
"Moreover - the ultrasonic measurements seem to confirm that the gunshield is not very thick. Most of the frontal surface of gunshield is in range of 90-120 mm, except for small area around MG/optics ports, where thickness suddenly increases to 250-350 mm. "...
"Those measurements raised more questions than answers. Even if there would be some empty spaces, why the ultrasonic readings are showing small numbers across the whole part? Why it is 90-120 mm, and suddenly 350 mm? To find the answers, I have contacted with USMC Museum (
https://www.usmcmuseum.com) in order to get some information. I asked them, because they restored M60A1 tank two years ago."
..."But also I received very important information from the Museum."
“Gunshield is built in two parts, and welded together. The piece is
solid, and there are no cavities within, with the exception of the holes for
the cannon, co-axially mounted machine gun and the secondary gun sight.”
Ez a magyarázata. A lövegpajzs ugyanis két részből állt, amit a gyártás során összehegesztettek. Amit kívülről látsz, az a rész az, aminek az átlagos vastagságát 4.5 hüvelyknek adták meg.
